Do I have to be home for the estimate? (top)
Do I have to be home for the estimate?
Do I need to remain home while the painting is being done? (top)
No. However, we prefer that all homeowners be present during the estimate so that we may address the concerns of all parties. This way we know exactly what you are looking for and we can estimate the project accordingly.
Do you have insurance? (top)
We maintain a $1,000,000 General Liability Insurance policy and Workers Compensation Insurance at all times.
Do you test for lead paint? (top)
Yes. If your home was built prior to 1978 we will test for lead. We are certified by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) to perform lead testing.
What happens if I have lead paint in/on my house? (top)
Lead is toxic. There are strict guidelines that dictate the extra precautions we must take to protect you, your neighbors, and ourselves from any lead dust and paint chips that may be produced while we prepare your home for new paint. During this phase of the project we will wear protective equipment and use plastic sheeting to prevent the spread of dust and paint chips. This may mean that you will not be able to access certain parts of your home while we complete this process.
How can I ensure my paint job will last as long as possible? (top)
Legendary Painting does the greatest amount of prep work relevant to your project. This means scraping loose paint, sanding down the edges of remaining paint, and using a high quality primer specific to the surface to be painted.
How often should I paint the exterior of my house? (top)
Most exterior paints will last 6-8 years. However, sun, moisture, and extreme weather may require you to paint more often.
How often should I stain the exterior of my house? (top)
Solid Stain looks and acts more like paint but it soaks into the wood rather than forming a film over it. A solid stain should be reapplied every 3-5 years.
Semi Transparent Stain adds color to the wood but allows the wood grain to show through. They should be reapplied every 1-2 years.
How often should I paint the interior of my house? (top)
There are many factors to take into consideration, and each home can be different. However, a good quality job done by a professional crew under normal conditions should last anywhere from 6-10 years.
Do you repair damaged wood and drywall? (top)
Yes. Our employees are all experienced in drywall and siding repair and replacement. Most minor repairs that need to be made can be done as part of the preparation work we do prior to painting.
Can you help me pick paint colors? (top)
Most people have a general idea of what color they want. To narrow down your selection we can provide you with a color fan or you can go to your local paint store and find color options there. We suggest that you get some samples and apply them to a couple of different areas of your home as well as in different types of lighting. The cost of a few samples of paint is much cheaper than repainting a room or entire house if you end up unhappy with the color chosen. If you do not want to change the color of your home, and then just ask us to match the existing color and we will most likely be able to do that.
Can you match the existing stain on my house? (top)
We have had a lot of success finding a close match with colors provided by various stain suppliers. If we canít find a listed color that matches, we are very good at custom matching colors by mixing existing colors. We will not go forward with your staining project until you are confident that we have it right.
What do I have to do in order to get ready for the painters? (top)
We ask that you have the plants trimmed back away from the house and move any personal items away.
If I decide to choose your company, what do I do next? (top)
Contact us and we will send you a contract and schedule your work.
